The idea was to create a medium scale map of the City of Vancouver that mimicked a political reference map of a country, where the different neighborhoods of the city are shown as 'states' or 'provinces' within their 'country' — using a style seen in a small scale map, like one of the continental United States.

Additional maps were made— wherever there was community (or neighborhood) boundary information available.

Using that information and other publicly available spatial data, these maps were created with very close attention to detail.

The neighborhood (or community) boundaries and names are from the cities' official data sites and other map elements are from definitive sources— nothing is arbitrarily drawn and no feature arbitrarily named.
